Introduction

SDOM functions from its operational centre in Port Dickson with over 40 employees to carry out all operation and maintenance of the four 110MW General Electric (USA) open cycle plant.

SDOM was formed in 1994 as an operation and maintenance company known as JanaUrus PDP Sdn Bhd. It started as the operation and maintenance for Port Dickson Power Bhd. sub-contractor to ESBI (UK) Limited. ESBI is the consulting wing of Electrical Supply Board, the national utility of the Republic of Ireland.

In 2002, upon expiry of ESBI’s contract, SDOM took over the operation and maintenance of the power plant, now as the main operation and maintenance contractor. SDOM underwent a corporate rationalisation exercise in 2009 which saw the formation of SDOM as a division in Sime Darby Energy Sdn Bhd.

SDOM team played a key role in the accreditation and certification of Port Dickson Power Plant to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 international standards.
